Popular and Viral are different charts
Popular identifies the sounds with the strongest current usage in a market. Viral identifies sounds showing stronger recent momentum. A sound can appear on both charts, and the two lists can update on different schedules.
Source and update times
Rankings come from TikTok's music-chart data. The timestamp shown above each list is TikTok's source update time, not the time a visitor loaded this website. The site checks for updated data hourly, but it does not claim that TikTok republishes every chart each hour.
Country validation
TikTok can silently return a fallback chart for an unsupported country. A market is published only after its chart identifier and ranked set are verified as distinct. The initial supported markets are the United States, Germany, Brazil, Japan, and South Korea.
What “TikTok videos” means
The usage count is TikTok's reported number of posts using a particular sound. It can change independently of chart rank and should not be interpreted as views, listeners, or unique creators.
Song identity and music-service links
TikTok audio objects are not always the same as canonical released recordings. Several TikTok clips can map to one song, while an original sound may have no released recording at all. Spotify and other music-service links appear only when TikTok supplies a usable match.
